These Snow Model 400 Cellos are made with beautifully selected tonewoods–a spruce top and a nicely flamed maple back. In addition, the luthiers finish the violin with an artisan varnish– ”Italian 1704”- giving the cellos a highly polished and attractive look. This cello has a strong, penetrating sound that has a lot of power for the soloist. Yet, you will also find warmth in every register, from the C to the A string.
Each Snow cello at Princeton Violins is professionally set up to the same standards as fine instruments valued at $100,000 and beyond. Every detail is meticulously measured and adjusted — body length, neck length, stop length, vibrating string length, string after-length, fingerboard projection, bridge shape, and the precise spacing and height of strings at both bridge and nut.
